Ten years of DevOps has fundamentally changed the way that many organisations deliver and operate software, yet for many there is still much confusion about just what DevOps actually is. In this short talk, we will look at some of the principles, practices and ways of working that are at the heart of the DevOps movement and show the benefits that they can bring - from a Perl script written twenty years ago to the tech unicorns of today.

Understand that DevOps is not:
about using particular technologies or toolsets
the role of an individual or the function of a team
Understand that DevOps is:
about the ways we work together to deliver and operate software
applicable everywhere, regardless of industry, technology or teams
Audience
Anybody involved in building and running modern software systems
How this enables organisational sensing
This talk helps leaders, managers, and individual contributors to understand that DevOps is not about tools or technology but that it is about changing the way we think and work to deliver and operate software.
